"WHAT IF I FALL?
OH, BUT MY DARLING, WHAT IF YOU FLY?"

LIVING OUT LOUD

I was a stay-at home mom of two for over 20 years. I took on some small contract work and spent a lot of time volunteering for my children's schools and for the community. I went through a divorce when my son was 10 and my daughter was 13. Those are tough years for kids to face their family separating and thankfully their father was supportive of me being home with them while they finished school.
I knew from an early age that being a wife and mom was going to be my vocation - and it happened and I was never more grateful. I never anticipated a divorce. My own parents had a nasty divorce when I was 13 (which was rare back in those days) and I never wanted to impose that on my children. As life happens, I had to re-experience my parents divorce, my sense of abandonment, loss and rebirth in the years that followed. Thank goodness for therapy!! I don't know where I would be without the help of an amazing cast of men and women that have helped me stay grounded and do my best in some lousy circumstances.
I was financially well supported for many years but I knew that it wasn't going to last forever. There was an end date and I had to pony up and figure out what I was going to do with the next chapter of my life. I found an online business. I could work it on my timeline, I could work as little or as much as I wanted, no college or university degree was necessary and there was no ceiling as to the amount of income you could make. I had a chance to reinvent myself on every level. A different part of my brain was activated and I was starting to feel optimistic and alive!
I believe that because of all that I've been through, I also began to serve as a useful resource to those seeking inspiration, help, or advice. I have finally decided to own that role and be intentional about it. I have always journaled about my passions, my thoughts and my curious observations. I started my website with a mission to give others a taste of what goes on in my mind (it can be scary in there!), while hopefully providing inspiration as I maneuver/captain this life and grow out of the "boots on the ground" mom roll to a successful business owner and entrepreneur.
My hope is that you take a little time to read my blog, see something that sparks an interest, smile a bit, relate a bit and perhaps feel a little less alone in a world that can feel so isolating at times.
